In
addition to all the other Special Features already mentioned,
the Secondhand Lions DVD has several other wonderful Bonus
Features .
The
Commentary Digest
The
Commentary Digest is a 12 minute 41 sec segment featuring
the best of Tim McCanlies director's commentary to Secondhand
Lions. Nothing new here if you already have heard the film
length commentary, but great if you only have 15 minutes to
spare !

The
Scene Medleys
There
are two interesting medleys of scenes, the first one called
" Hub's Adventure ", which strings together
all the fantasy elements of the film in one continous sequence,
so you can in fact watch the adventures of the McCann Brothers,
in particular, Hub , like a story, instead of being broken
up into shorter sequences as in the film itself.

The
second Scene Medley is called " Who Are Those Guys?
" and again pieces together various scenes from the film
to give us an insight as to who the McCann Brothers really
are. Very interesting !

Picture
Gallery
This
is a beautiful picture gallery showcasing not only the actors
of Secondhand Lions, but the stunning Texan scenes featured
in the film. Somewhat akin to lobby cards of the film, these
pictures are a joy to behold.

Visual
Effects Comparison

2
short sequences from the film display side by side the scene
before and after the visual effects are added. Although short,
the scenes are enough to demonstrate the stunning work of
Digital Domain , whose special effects work blends in seamlessly
with the live action .

Theatrical
Trailer and TV Spots
The
Secondhand Lions theatrical trailer and 7 TV spots are included
in the DVD. It is interesting to see how the TV spots were
created to appeal to different niche groups of potential viewers
, with 3 TV spots created to appeal to younger children, and
4 TV spots aimed at at older audience.
DVD
MCE ENHANCEMENT
As
if all these bonus features were not enough , Newline Cinemas
released the Secondhand Lions DVD with MCE enhancement, making
DVD history by being the first DVD to have this feature .
